Humanoid

You live out tomorrow,

playing it out in your mind’s eye today.

For perceived piece of mind and sanity,

there’s no other way...

...

Behaviour is modelled in soap operas,

advertisements express wealth.

Nutrients and exercise – topics in Biology,

however, artificial chemistry sustains health.

Nintendo and computer games are cathartic for suppressed emotions,

and the evening news teaches what to fear.

Live life dimensionally,

and remember to lock the door to your rear.

...

Relationships are digital,

Hollywood has turned a cliché of happiness.

So long as he’s handsome and rich,

your partnership is a success.

There’s a song for all moments,

and a word for every feeling.

An admiration for creation,

but you’ll never use your own voice to sing.

...

Books are heavy,

Encyclopaedia is simply a big word.

Everybody’s got the same information,

The network’s made us all journalists and specialists – no more nerds.

Google is a common term,

Love is defined.

The heart is an organ that’s replaceable, the rest –

programming in the circuit-board of your mind.

...

Paper bills and figures nurture life,

they’re the WHAT

determining WHERE and HOW you live.

But, WHY?

Nobody remembers...

It’s all been reduced to squat!

Dead Eyes

How do you recognise a humanoid?

No barcodes, registrations or marks...

Simply look into the eyes – they’re pixelated.

There’s a glowing crystal glare,

no windows to anything

but emptiness.

...

Some are not wholly mechanical,

only partially transformed.

Robots for five out of seven,

and from seven to five.

Living souls thereafter...

However, spirits cause trouble when not looked after.

They punish in pain,

ill-luck,

decay

and transparency...

...

You can try save them.

There’s only one way.

Touch their one true heart, if it’s still beating.

That’ll scramble the electronics

and hot-wire the brain.

Thought by thought

Heart by heart

One by one

In each new pair of flaring eyes...

We’ll set free the droids,

and fill up this word’s

human-void.

Maja, it is an amazing hub. All my thoughts are echoed...

"but you’ll never use your own voice to sing." I do, but I think others think of me as insane.

You touched on too many things that is wrong with society. Sometimes I think that everything is wrong, everything is upside down and inside out. Well, maybe not everything. Maybe having too much, we became really desensitized. We became "dead", unaware... Maybe it was always like that.

I really liked "The network" video -

"Diana: Indifferent to suffering; insensitive to joy. All of life is reduced to the common rubble of banality. War, murder, death are all the same to you as bottles of beer. And the daily business of life is a corrupt comedy."

I have never seen "Network", I'd really like to.

Yes, dead eyes. Sometimes I wonder, am I "dead", too?

@kallini2010:

Thanks Svetlana.

I realised after re-reading what I wrote a few times that I used repeated motifs, almost the same rhythm, and identical lines to two of my previous poems. I don't know if it's because I'm out of creativity or this feeling is just pounding inside of me...

I watched a movie entitled "The laws of eternity" recently. In it, it was stated that the purpose of technology is for convenience and simplification of mundane tasks so that we can "experience life"! Something along those lines... That realy struck me. To experiece life! Instead we've allowed it to consume us and become our lives (for some people). It's becoming a method of control and escapism rather than a life tool or aid.

I'm not "alive" yet. I'm in a limbo in which I can see the dead people and those who have come alive. The dead people scare me so I'm definately not going back there. I'm just waiting in line for the elevator to take me back to life, but a part of me just wants to run past the line and leap forward... Then there's fear...

Anyway, I'm over simplifying this. There's more than one level of "life", "death" and "limbo". But, I can go on about that forever...

Energy goes where it recognises itself, and people are drawn to the recognition of themselves in others. So, you can't have dead eyes... You're at least in limbo. ;)

@epigramman:

Thank you.

I'm really glad it's got you "buzzed". I wish it could get more people thinking. More so than the technology, it's a group consciousness that holds the "humanoids" together - nobody wants to be too different and cast out. I'm not claiming not to be one either...

This language of mine? I'm developing it word for word, line by line and eventually book by book... possibly, but we'll see... ;)

Maja:

motifs and repetitions as you know are cornerstones in architecture and movies and even in writing. In songs, as well, known as refrains.

They help create rhythm and the proper feeling of rhythm. Poetry is like that. Nothing is wrong with your creativity - something is wrong with your judgement.

Can you let go? and say: "However imperfect it is, it goes and sees the light." I wrote the whole article on being ridiculous - I don't know if you have read it, but the main point is relax, be silly, be ridiculous, be far from perfect.

And I refuse to believe your dead eyes and you being in limbo - it is the pain of growth. It will never go away.

If you refuse to grow, then you have to endure the pain of regressing, shrinking and going back to a smaller size... painful as hell.

Svetlana:

Hey! Are you judging me in saying that I lack judgement?!

Haha... Your comment made me smile. Thanks!

I guess I'm just used to being too hard on myself and having the feeling of being "unable to write" anything much for some time has left me somewhat insecure. Stupidities... I'm over it!

I actually spat out a poem/song last night as I was listening to music. It just flowed freely and I was just having a bit of fun. Then I re-read it this morning and realised that I like it so I put it in a hub.

I remember your hub about being ridiculous... I just have to keep reminding myself now and again until it comes naturally and without irrational fear.

Maja:

No, quite the opposite. There is no lack of judgement, but there is no lack of creativity either. We ALL have tons of each. However, it is our Judgment that curtail our Creativity.

Yes, we exchange comments about "being silly". Chickens do not fly - maybe they are creative, too, but they don't fly. Roosters fly and fight, fight to death, but what is the point?

Take a flight...

There is nothing to be afraid of... Leave the people with dead eyes behind you...

Svetlana,

My dad's chickens do fly! That's part of the reason why they freak me out.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

You've just inspired me - again!

But it'll be more than a poem. It's always much more than a poem because of the experience, feeling and the thought that goes into it... And perhaps also the decisions that come out of it.

Your last words:

"Take a flight...

There is nothing to be afraid of... Leave the people with dead eyes behind you..."

This is exactly what I needed to hear (or rather, read). I'll show you what becomes of it... ;)

Thank you, Maja:

I recommend you to read Augustine's story. It is sad and funny at the same time. You should found a club:

"We don't like chickens. Especially live ones."

But Sunnie Day (another friend) might object to that.

Have a nice day.
